Child Life Practicum
The child life practicum program takes place in the winter/spring, summer, and fall semesters. We are not currently offering a practicum during Winter/Spring 2023.

Deadlines
Be sure that your application packet is postmarked by the appropriate deadline indicated below. Your application must be complete to be considered for an interview. Please note that submitting a completed application does not guarantee an interview or practicum placement. Candidates will be required to meet in person if located within a three-hour drive, or be available via Skype or Zoom.

Child Life Internship

We’re excited to announce that our Child Life Internship Program has been accredited through the Association of Child Life Professionals. To see a full list of accredited programs, please visit the Association of Child Life Professionals website.

The child life internship takes place in the spring (January-May), fall (August-December) and summer (May-August) semesters.

All applications must be submitted via e-mail to Jocelyn.giertz@ouhealth.com by the application deadline as specified for the Association of Child Life Professionals. Your application must be complete to be considered for an interview. Please note that submitting a completed application does not guarantee an interview or internship placement. Interview candidates will be required to meet in-person, if located within a three hour drive, or via Skype.

Fellowship

We also offer a Child Life Fellowship. The fellowship is an opportunity for further learning and growing as a child life specialist once a child life internship has been completed. It is a one-year paid position that usually starts in the fall. The position is posted in late spring and the application can be located at OUHealth.com/careers.
