DAISY Award: Honoring Extraordinary Nurses at OU Health

Nursing is more than just a profession – it's a unique bond between caregiver and human being. Whether it’s consoling an anxious patient, supporting families awaiting life-changing surgeries, comforting expectant mothers, or guiding patients through traumatic moments, nurses at OU Health go above and beyond to provide a sense of safety, support, and healing. Their care is not just about what they do – it's about how they show up, offering compassion, expertise, and a lasting impact when it’s needed most.

About the DAISY Award

The DAISY Award is a prestigious international recognition program that honors nurses for going above and beyond in their practice. Established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, the DAISY Foundation’s mission is to meaningfully celebrate the extraordinary, compassionate nurses, capturing those moments unique to nursing that make a profound difference in the lives of people around the world.

Nominations are accepted from anyone who has witnessed or experienced exceptional care – patients, family members, colleagues, physicians, students, faculty, alumni, or staff. These nominations are reviewed by an internal committee, who then evaluates the nominees based on compassion and how they exemplify the OU Health Way values: Patients First, Relentless Excellence, Integrity, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Learning.
