Designed to improve the treatment experience for children and families when faced with pediatric cancer or a blood disorder, the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Jimmy Everest Center (JEC) recognizes the brave effort of James “Jimmy” Christopher Everest who died from bone cancer in 1992 at the age of 17.

Welcoming Environment with Advanced Facilities

Memorial donations created the Center in honor of Jimmy’s life. Up-to-date facilities include exam rooms, procedure, and recovery rooms, a satellite outpatient laboratory with a phlebotomy area, an infusion area, a satellite hospital chemotherapy pharmacy, and 340b retail pharmacy for hemophilia factor and products, as well as educational and administrative spaces. Beyond the advanced care for your child’s specific cancer or blood disorder receive at the Jimmy Everest Center, you and your family benefit from a wide range of related services, including mental health and emotional support from a master’s-level clinical psychologist, access to a psychology PhD, social workers and Child Life specialists who provide age-appropriate guidance through the healthcare and hospital experience.

You and your child also gain access to extensively trained nurses holding APHON/CPHON credentials in pediatric hematology/oncology, as well as the entire range of pediatric specialty groups, including cardiology and cardiac surgery, kidney, pulmonology, neuroscience and neurosurgery, radiation oncology, intensive care, radiology, rheumatology, genetics, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, laboratory/pathology, and urology, among others.
