Our Clinical Services

Get help for your child or young loved one who lives with developmental, educational, behavioral or medical needs from developmental and behavioral pediatrics specialists at the Child Study Center.

Take advantage of expert evaluation, including individual and interdisciplinary assessment, as well as inpatient or outpatient consultation, treatment and clinical services such as:

  • A Better Chance – Helps infants and children exposed to drugs and/or alcohol before birth
  • Child Guidance Services — Oklahoma County offers developmental, behavioral, speech/language/hearing screening, assessment, evaluation, and therapy for children ages 0-13. In addition, child care mental health consultations and resource/referral services are offered for families.
  • Child Trauma Services (CTS) — Provides clinical service, training, and consultation in the treatment of children ages 3-18 and their families impacted by trauma.
  • Individual Behavioral/Family Therapy Clinic — Provides evaluation and treatment services for children ages 2-18 with a wide variety of struggles (e.g. those who have experienced abuse, neglect or another serious trauma or loss, depression, anxiety, selective mutism, ADHD, ASD, disabilities, relational conflicts, etc.
  • Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) — Provides assessment and treatment for children ages birth through 5 years of age who have experienced an early adversity.
  • JumpStart Developmental Program – Helps families and care providers understand developmental and behavioral strengths and challenges faced by young children thought to have developmental delays
  • Neuropsychology and Assessment Program – Provides evaluation on children 0-18 with known or suspected neurological disorders, as well as those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, dyslexia, severe communication disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, or others.
  • Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) – Short-term, specialized behavior management program designed for young children experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties and their families
  • Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) — Serves caregivers and children ages preschool (3-6), school age (7-12), and adolescent (13-18) who exhibit problematic sexual behavior.
  • Selective Mutism Clinic — Provides assessment and behavioral treatment which includes: individual, group, and intensive treatment models for children ages 4-12 with selective mutism, which is a complex anxiety disorder.
  • Sooner SUCCESS – Serves families and providers who care for a child from birth to age 21 with special needs, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional/behavioral Issues, developmental delays/disabilities, learning disabilities, abuse or neglect

Your Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics Team

As part of your OU Health developmental and behavioral pediatrics care team, you and your child may work with a highly skilled group of children’s specialists, including board-certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians, child and adolescent psychologists, speech pathologists, clinical social workers, professional counselors, occupational therapists, nurse practitioners and child development specialists.

Beyond their therapeutic work with you and your child, these dedicated experts help train the next generation of behavioral health professionals who will continue to care for your children and family. Your doctor, therapists and other team members also participate in extensive research on important issues such as the effects of fetal drug and alcohol exposure, emotional trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders so they can bring the most innovative and advanced treatment options to their care for your child’s particular condition.
