You want the greatest range of choices, the widest diversity of healthcare specialties and the extensive expertise you get in a compassionate, team-based environment designed to treat you as a whole person and support all aspects of your health.

Nationally Recognized Cancer Treatments Close to Home

That’s exactly what you’ll find at OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center – all close to home, right here in Oklahoma City.

Depending on your specific situation, you and your Stephenson Cancer Center care team may choose from innovative, evidence-based cancer treatments such as:

  • Chemotherapy and infusion – Medications designed to destroy cancer cells; often used in combination with other therapies, including surgery, to remove any traces of cancer after a procedure; typical treatment option for most cancers
  • Radiation therapy – Precise doses of targeted radiation to shrink tumors and kill cancer cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissues and organs; often combined with chemotherapy and surgery; may include proton radiation therapy, the latest and most advanced treatment option for several types of cancer
  • Surgical oncology – Valuable treatment used before cancer has spread; removing tumors makes it easier to kill any remaining cancer cells with chemotherapy or radiation therapy; includes minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures that help speed recovery because they require only a few small incisions
  • Transplant and cellular therapy – May include blood and bone marrow transplant to replenish blood cells destroyed during treatment of blood disorders; CAR-T therapy option boosts special properties of T cells from your own immune system and helps them better fight cancer cells

Clinical Trials at Oklahoma’s Only NCI-Designated Cancer Center

You and your doctor also may want to explore ways to participate in nationally recognized clinical trials available at OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Center, ranked No. 1 in the nation for the number of participants in NCI-sponsored treatment trials.
