About Mary-Margaret Brandt
Mary-Margaret (Maggie) Brandt, MD, MHSA, FACS, FCCM is a faculty member in the Department of Surgery as a Professor of Surgery and Program Director of the Burn Center. She graduated from the University of New Mexico – School of Medicine where she also completed her General Surgery Residency. Dr. Brandt completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. She is also board certified in Neuro-Critical Care.
Dr. Brandt is a site surveyor for the Verification Review Committee of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) - Committee on Trauma. In addition, she is a contributing author of the 9th and 10th additions of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Prior to coming to Oklahoma, Dr. Brandt was in SE Michigan for over 20 years. Dr. Brandt began her career as a Trauma-Burn Surgeon at the University of Michigan. She then became the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Director at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. For nine years she was Trauma Director at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and guided the organization to become an ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center. Most recently, she was the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Beaumont Hospital Trenton.
Dr. Brandt retired as a Colonel from the United States Army Reserve in 2013, having deployed to Afghanistan in 2003 and 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and to Iraq in 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
