About Amanda Celii
Amanda Celii, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. A graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, she completed her general surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburg and completed her Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Celii’s areas of expertise include Trauma Surgery, Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She also serves as the Associate Director for the Trauma Post-Acute Care Unit, Associate Director of Trauma Outreach and Education and the EMS Trauma Liaison at OU Health. Dr. Celii is currently the fourth year surgery clerkship director for the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine and is the 2018 recipient of the Russell G. Postier Resident Teaching Award.
Her clinical interests include surgical stabilization of rib fractures, ventral hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, and resuscitation endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA).
Dr. Celii initiated a new project entitled “Use of Surgical Fixation for Chest Wall Stabilization in Severe Traumatic Rib Fractures.” OU Health Science Center is the lead center on this multicenter trial with four other trauma centers participating through Eastern Association of Trauma. Dr. Celii is participating in a multicenter trial through Western Trauma Association entitled “Blunt Bowel and Mesenteric Injury: A WTA Multicenter Prospective Observational Study.”
