I had a very disappointing experience at my appointment with Dr. [Name]. I came in after being referred for a sarcoma consultation following a biopsy showing angiosarcoma and a wide excision surgery. Because of the seriousness of the situation, I was hoping for guidance and compassion.Instead, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. The doctor spoke to us in a condescending way that made us feel as though our questions and concerns were unwelcome. I was also surprised to hear my private medical information being discussed loudly in the hallway where others could easily hear, which felt like a violation of patient privacy. There also seemed to be confusion about my medical records. I was told there were very few records available and was criticized for "waiting too long," even though the appointment scheduling delays were outside of my control and referrals had already been made. I was even advised to carry printed records in a satchel, which felt unrealistic in a large medical system where providers should be able to access shared records. This appointment was extremely frustrating and emotional during an already stressful time dealing with cancer. Patients facing serious diagnoses need clear communication, empathy, and coordination between providers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

In all of my years of care, and of my children's care, there have been many health care providers, Dr O'Stasik displays every attribute I feel are important and the manner she conveys it are a testament to her profession. 5 Stars!
