Willie Klaus, who turned 3 in January, loves anything with noise and lights that spins. Born with Down Syndrome, he spent his first 50 days of life in the NICU and PICU—and many days over the last three years at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. “If you’re staying at Children’s with a child cooped up in bed, the moment the Toy Cart comes around can really change the entire dynamic of your stay,” said Mike Klaus, father to Willie.

For Willie’s birthday, Mike and his wife Jennifer asked the friends and family who have supported and prayed for Willie with each hospital stay to help them give back and purchase needs from the hospital’s wish list. Two truck-loads of toys, soothers, bouncy seats and other amazing items, valued in the thousands, came in—a tremendous celebration of giving for Willie’s birthday. He is now one of our very first Kids Club members.
