About Rodney Edwards
Rodney K. Edwards, MD, MS is Professor and Chief of the Section of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. He also holds the Presbyterian Health Foundation Endowed Chair in Perinatal Research and is the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program Director. Finally, he is the Director of Obstetric Services for The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center. Dr. Edwards earned his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville. During fellowship, he earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Florida in Clinical Investigation. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Edwards is actively involved in clinical practice, teaching and research. He has received numerous teaching awards. Dr. Edwards has published more than 65 peer-reviewed original research articles, several textbook chapters and review articles, and he co-authored a medical student-level textbook. His research interests are infections in obstetrics, obesity, abnormal labor, and the interaction between these areas. Dr. Edwards is a regular reviewer for Obstetrics & Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he has reviewed manuscripts for several other journals. During the past eight years, he was included in the list of The Best Doctors in America.
