About Neal Kaushal

Dr. Neal Kaushal M.D., MBA is a distinguished physician and healthcare leader with extensive experience in gastroenterology, endoscopy, and hospital administration. He currently serves as Executive Director of General Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at OU Health and Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Medicine, providing expert gastroenterology and hepatology services in Oklahoma City and Edmond.

Dr. Kaushal’s academic journey includes a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, where he graduated with honors. He also holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.

With clinical training from top institutions including the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, Dr. Kaushal is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.

At OU Health, Dr. Kaushal is actively involved in hospital leadership, serving as Executive Director of General GI Endoscopy and also serving on numerous committees including Quality and Patient Safety. His past leadership roles in hospital settings include serving as Chief of Division in the Department of Gastroenterology and Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Services at Adventist Health Sonora. He has also chaired the Department of Medicine and served as Chief of Staff Elect, showcasing his commitment to excellence in medical leadership.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Kaushal is actively involved in the American Society of Gastroenterology (ASGE), where he serves on the Practice Operations Committee and also as Vice Chairman of the Ambulatory Endoscopy Center Special Interest Group. His leadership roles including developing educational materials and professional resources in the business of medicine, furthering his commitment to providing access to cost efficient care Gastroenterology care. He also continues to advise students and trainees at his alma mater, UCLA, in both clinical training programs and the Andersen School of Management.
