About Matthew Deel

Matthew Deel, MD is a developmental and behavioral pediatrician with the Child Study Center at OU Health in Oklahoma City. He cares for children with a variety of developmental disorders and has a particular focus on children with complex psychosocial backgrounds and history of prenatal substance exposure.

Dr. Deel earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. He completed a residency in general pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He completed a fellowship in developmental and behavioral pediatrics at the OU College of Medicine and OU Health's Child Study Center.

Dr. Deel serves as the primary medical staff at the Child Study Center's A Better Chance (ABC) Interdisciplinary Clinic where he helps with medication management and FASD evaluations for children with prenatal exposure to substances of abuse.

He also serves as the clinical expert on the investigation team for the implementation of the Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP) in Oklahoma, which seeks to support new mothers with substance use disorder through comprehensive home-based case management.

In his spare time, Dr. Deel enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with his nerdy friends and sharing his life with his wife and 2 young children.
