About Hakeem Shakir

Dr. Shakir is a neurosurgeon with fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery treating stroke and aneurysm patients at OU Health. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and neurosurgery residency at the University at Buffalo, He completed a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at the University at Buffalo at the Gates Vascular Institute. Before joining the neurosurgery department at OU Health he served as the Director of Endovascular Neurosciences at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Shakir has authored over 40 peer reviewed journal publications and book chapters ranging from complex stroke care to physician burnout and resilience.

    I would loved to had the procedure done by Dr Shakir, too bad I found out after the fact that he wasn't in network. Again, he and his staff was caring and informative and I felt very comfortable with their findings.
