About Elizabeth Risch

Elizabeth Risch, PhD, is a clinical psychologist at Oklahoma Children’s OU Health. She specializes in supporting healing from traumatic experiences and promoting wellness among helping professionals. Dr. Risch serves as co-director of a trauma-focused mental health clinic, where she advances evidence-based care for children, adolescents and families.

Dr. Risch earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from the University of Tulsa.

She is a nationally approved trainer in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Components for Enhancing Career Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT). Dr. Risch is also the author and developer of the internationally validated Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS).

Previously, Dr. Risch co-led the statewide dissemination of trauma-focused assessment and treatment for youth across Oklahoma and continues to provide national training in trauma-informed practices. She is a nationally certified provider of Alternatives for Families–A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and TF-CBT.

Dr. Risch is deeply committed to improving equity in mental health care, with cultural responsiveness and family engagement central to all aspects of her clinical, training and research work.
