Join us for a virtual “doc talk” about stroke diagnosis and treatment. Jorge Ortiz-Garcia, M.D.; stroke neurology specialist and Hakeem Shakir, M.D.; Neurosurgeon will share important information about recognizing and preventing strokes. After a brief talk, attendees will be able to engage in a Q&A with panel members.
A stroke occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen to the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts. When it occurs that part of the brain will not function as it should. The effects of a stroke depend on the location of the obstruction and the extent of brain affected.
