A training opportunity for First Responders including Police, Fire, EMS, other Healthcare Professionals, and Community Members who work to support older adults in times of emergency and crisis. This training will provide knowledge, skills, confidence, and resource information necessary for first responders to execute their duties when engaging with people living with dementia. Training topics include Dementia fundamentals, Recognizing dementia, Anticipated patient presentation(s), Appropriate & Effective responses, Communication & Behavioral challenges, Dementia management skills acquisition, and Recognizing/Reporting elder abuse. A panel discussion with current field providers will offer case discussions and Q & A time.
All are welcome to attend, but this training is ideal for: First responders, Police, Fire, EMS, Physicians, Nurses, CNA's, any other health related professionals, and the community at-large.
