OU Health Clinics, Pharmacies Close in Observance of Thanksgiving

On Thursday, Nov. 23, we pause and reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for. Many of us celebrate with family and friends over a shared meal and use this day as it was intended — to be truly thankful.

When it comes to healthcare, many of OU Health’s healthcare workers understand that the work never stops, even on a national holiday. Our dedicated team members serve tirelessly to care for others.

Updated Clinic Hours

Thanksgiving is a recognized holiday of OU Health, therefore many of our operations will be closed in recognition. This includes System Administration as well as the following areas.

OU Health Ambulatory Clinics, both adult and pediatric, as well OU Health’s retail pharmacies will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Most clinics will reopen on Friday, Nov. 24, with the majority being open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some are closed and some are only accepting phone calls or virtual visits. Please check your clinic’s Google listing or call your clinic prior to visiting due to the holiday.

OU Health Physicians clinics in Tulsa will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving. The OU Health Physicians Schusterman Clinic will be open on Friday, Nov. 24 from 8 – 11 a.m., and will close early in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Updated Pharmacy Hours

Retail pharmacies will have slightly varied hours on Friday, Nov. 24, Jimmy Everest Center Pharmacy will remain closed; Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Retail Pharmacy and OU Physician’s Building Pharmacy will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Nicholson Tower Pharmacy, Stephenson Cancer Center Pharmacy, Family Medicine Center Pharmacy will be open from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Urgent & Emergency Care

The OU Health — Emergency Room & Urgent Care centers in south OKC and Yukon remains open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Urgent Care hours are 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily. From 8 p.m. - 7 a.m. it is Emergency Room only. The south OKC location can be reached at (405) 300-7740 and the Yukon location can be reached at (405) 494-8600.

As always, all OU Health emergency rooms will be open as normal over the holiday.
