About Taha Al-Juhaishi
Dr. Taha Al-Juhaishi is the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Cancer Services at OU Health and an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship. Trained in management of complex hematologic malignancies, hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapies, Dr. Al-Juhaishi integrates advanced clinical expertise with research and education to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care while training the next generation of specialists in his field.
As a clinical investigator and a member of the cancer therapeutics program at the Stephenson Cancer Center, Dr. Al-Juhaishi leads and collaborates on multiple clinical trials exploring novel therapies for hematologic malignancies. His research also focuses on quality improvement and cancer outcomes, where he mentors numerous trainees and colleagues. Dr. Al-Juhaishi has authored or coauthored nearly 50 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and other scholarly works, including articles in leading journals in his field such as Transplantation and Cellular Therapy , Bone Marrow Transplantation , Blood Advances , and Leukemia , among others. Dr. Al-Juhaishi is also an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT). He serves on key national committees such as the ASTCT Practice Guidelines Committee, and the ASTCT Education and Content Committee, working alongside experts to shape best practices and promote innovation in transplant and cellular therapy.
A graduate of Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar, Dr. Al-Juhaishi completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health and VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Al-Juhaishi also earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business. His vision is to advance high-quality, multidisciplinary, evidence-based cancer care while fostering innovation in clinical research and education to continually move the field forward.
