Every year, thousands of Oklahoma children are born with or develop heart conditions. For many, the Presbyterian Health Foundation Heart Center offers a life-changing opportunity filled with hope.

Oklahoma Children's is home to the state’s only comprehensive pediatric cardiac program, only pediatric heart surgery program, and only pediatric heart transplant program.

Over the next decade, Oklahoma Children’s expects a 4% rise in pediatric heart surgeries and an 11% increase in children living with congenital heart disease. As Oklahoma and the surrounding region continue to grow, so too does the need for highly specialized, complex pediatric cardiac care.

But, in our current facilities, patients are spread across five units, and our infrastructure and equipment are dated.

A Vision for the Future

For the first time, all heart care will be under one roof – making things easier for families, and lifesaving for kids.

Together, we are building the eight-story Oklahoma Children’s OU Health Presbyterian Health Foundation Heart Center, the first of its kind in the region, uniting all pediatric cardiac services in one comprehensive facility.

The new heart center will feature:

• 4 surgical service rooms with dedicated pre- and post-op space
• 4 imaging suites for advanced cardiovascular imaging
• 11 cardiology diagnostic suites to support a full range of diagnostic services
• 90 dedicated inpatient beds dedicated to cardiac patients
• A specialized cardiac rehabilitation center
• An outpatient and ambulatory clinic for ongoing care
• Dedicated space for transplant and ventricular assist device patients
• A cardiac ICU and NICU

For families and patients, this means less stress, more comfort, and the highest standard care, all close to home.
