About Yuki Nakamura

Yuki Nakamura, M.D. is a congenital heart surgeon at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, he was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. He completed cardiovascular surgery residency at National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center, Japan and pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York, NY.

Dr. Nakamura’s clinical interest is congenital heart surgery and adult congenital heart surgery. He also has been actively involved in pediatric heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support ever since his fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, which is one of the largest pediatric heart transplant programs in the US. His research interests are patient-specific implants in pediatric cardiac surgery and surgical simulation using 3D modeling/printing technologies, especially focusing on intracardiac patches to repair congenital heart defects.
