About Nana Toyoda

Dr. Nana Toyoda is a thoracic surgeon at OU Health. Dr. Toyoda specializes in structural heart disease interventions and thoracic surgery, with a focus on clinical outcomes research in cardiovascular surgery. Dr. Toyoda earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in Japan. She completed residency training in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and New York University School of Medicine, followed by a thoracic surgery residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Toyoda also completed fellowship training in structural heart disease intervention at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Toyoda is actively involved in academic research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has received several awards for her research contributions and have presented at international scientific meetings. Dr. Toyoda is one of a selected group of cardiac surgeons uniquely trained in both open and endovascular approaches for the management of structural heart valve diseases, including TAVR and other valvular interventions.
