About Melissa Oishi

Melissa Oishi MS, RDN/LD, a is a Masters level clinical and research dietitian in the Section of General and Community Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She began her training at Missouri State University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and completed her training at Oklahoma State University where she received her Masters degree in nutritional sciences and research. She joined the OU stage 3 pediatric multidisciplinary weight management clinic, Healthy Futures, in 2019 where she works in her passion of assessing, managing, and treating childhood obesity through nutrition. She also works in Sooner Pediatrics primary care where she educates and counsels all children and families on healthy nutrition practices for life. Finally. she is involved in many pediatric obesity projects throughout the state including education of primary care providers on the topic of childhood obesity assessment and management
