It was refreshing to have a provider actually listen to everything I had to say, and to also be thorough in his exam.

I am extremely pleased with my care provider. I felt like he really listened to my symptoms. While I wasn't given any solid information about my condition, to do so would have been premature as this was my first visit and more evidence is needed. Instead, he carefully gave me what information he could.

I expected Dr. Arvas to come in with a plan at our four month checkup. I expected my doctor to do research, talk with colleagues, and come up with a plan to help his young patient with difficulty ambulating after he exhausted his personal knowledge the last appointment.Instead he disregarded all of my concerns and continued to parrot the same 'try physical therapy' he said last time. I have had to tell him every appointment that PT does not work and have listed every time I have gone to PT in the last twenty years and the techniques used each time. Every time I attempted to voice my concerns or discuss about an abnormal MRI finding, he interrupted me to remind that my test results were normal or that the finding was not his job.He was unable to give me a reccomendation for a neurosurgeon, nor did he seem willing to.The icing on the cake of this entire experience? In his notes after we walked out, he said I was faking it in the most scientific way possible. As a masters student in counseling psychology, I know what Functional Neurological Disorder looks like. I do not agree with the diagnosis. I also know what a useless doctor with no initiative looks like.

He laughed when I asked about a certain treatment, he did not give us any information about migraine. I asked him about Magnesium and he said he could take 800 mg I asked what kind he said it didn't matter. But in fact it does matter, there are many kinds. He didn't explain what causes them, what to avoid, he was terrible. I will probably find a new neurologist. It's very sad that you come in to a specialist for pain that your child has been dealing with for years and to be treated with little information and laughed at. Very unprofessional
