About Kathi Ling
Kathi Ling, DPT, WCC, is a physical therapist specializing in metabolic and bariatric surgery. She currently provides physical therapy treatment and education to patients preparing for and recovering from bariatric procedures. Her clinical focus includes developing exercise programs, creating educational materials, and conducting research on bariatric surgery outcomes, including six-minute walk test norms. She also contributes to interdisciplinary education for other professionals in the field through national and regional presentations.
She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. She has completed multiple certifications in wound care through the Wound Care Education Institute and maintains licensure in Oklahoma. Her continuing education spans manual therapy, neurorehabilitation, gerontology, cardiology, and bariatrics.
Dr. Ling serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma’s physical therapy program, where she teaches clinical modalities and interprofessional communication. She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, where she holds leadership roles on the education and access to care committees.
