About Jessica Lucas
Jessica L. Lucas, OD, is an optometrist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute who provides comprehensive primary eye care for patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include pediatric eye care, dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, and corneal disease. She is dedicated to helping patients maintain lifelong eye health through personalized care, early diagnosis, and disease management.
Dr. Lucas earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. During her training, she received numerous awards recognizing her achievements in clinical care, research, leadership, and academic excellence, including the Golden Retinoscope Award for Outstanding Senior Clinician and the Outstanding Optometric Research Award.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 2014, Dr. Lucas is committed to providing evidence-based care and staying at the forefront of advancements in the field.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in Plano, Texas, Dr. Lucas became an Oklahoman while attending optometry school in Tahlequah. As a Clinical Instructor, she is passionate about patient care and helping educate future eye care professionals.
Outside of work, Dr. Lucas enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children. She is active in her church and enjoys playing the piano.
