About Eslam Alkaramany

Eslam Alkaramany, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at OU Health in Oklahoma City, specializing in foot and ankle surgery, with additional expertise in pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery & Rehabilitation (Foot & Ankle Surgery) at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Alkaramany’s clinical practice encompasses complex foot and ankle conditions, sports-related injuries, and pediatric orthopedic care. He has completed multiple fellowships in these subspecialties and has contributed to ongoing research and academic presentations in his field.

Dr. Alkaramany earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his internship at Alexandria University Hospitals and subsequently undertook an ACGME-I accredited orthopedic residency at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. His advanced training includes fellowships at the University of Virginia (Foot and Ankle), Medstar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore (Foot and Ankle), Jefferson Health Northeast in Philadelphia (Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), and a combined Duke/UNC Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship in Durham, NC. 

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Alkaramany maintains an active research portfolio, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and ongoing projects in orthopedic surgery. He is an active member of professional societies, including the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of AOFAS. Outside of work, Dr. Alkaramany enjoys staying active through soccer, hiking, and table tennis.
