About Christina Henson
Dr. Henson is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the treatment of head and neck cancer and breast cancer. She is the executive vice chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and Stephenson Cancer Center. She also serves as assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education, and led the residency program as program director from 2019 to 2025.
A highly respected radiation oncologist, Dr. Henson has served as principal investigator on numerous investigator-initiated and cooperative group trials, with a particular focus on head and neck, breast and gynecologic cancers. She is also a co-director of the Stephenson Cancer Center Breast Program, chair of the Head & Neck Clinical Research Disease Site Group, and a key contributor to the NRG Oncology Head and Neck Committee.
Her impact extends beyond clinical and research arenas. Dr. Henson is a nationally recognized educator and mentor, serving on the Executive Committee of the Association of Directors of Radiation Oncology Programs (ADROP) and actively supporting early-career faculty and trainees. Her work as a section editor for IJROBP, and her leadership in international consensus efforts reflect both scholarly rigor and collaborative vision.
Dr. Henson completed her residency at the University of Oklahoma, where she also earned her medical degree. She earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
