About Caple Spence

Caple Spence, M.D. is a neurosurgeon with OU Health in Oklahoma City. His practice is focused on brain, spine and peripheral nerve surgery with a special expertise in complex spine reconstruction. 

He earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, NY. While at Mount Sinai, Dr. Spence developed his love of neurosurgery by learning from neurosurgical giants such as Leonard Malis, Kalmon Post and Chandra Sen. He completed a residency in neurosurgery from George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C and a fellowship in complex reconstructive spinal surgery from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL.

Prior to his practice in Oklahoma, Dr. Spence was the co-founder and co-director of the Iowa Spine and Brain Institute — northeast Iowa's most comprehensive center dedicated to multidisciplinary care for diseases of the brain and spine. 

Dr. Spence is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
