The PA did not even acknowledge our daughter for several minutes. Before he even looked at her he made a blanket statement on recovery time. There was little information. It wasn't till I pressed that he said a little more but not much. When I asked about an MRI, he said it wasn't needed but said he would go ahead and get the request started. I have since found out that an MRI is standard in these cases. His treatment plan was just rest. What does that mean? How long. Nothing in the way of next steps. Left there angry and unhappy. We immediately sought out a second opinion. We will not be going back.

Dr showed me the X-rays we took and explained all I needed to know. After still having concerns he also told me on what to be prepared in the future

I'm a PA so I'm trying to be patient. But the PA was an extremely poor communicator, and he didn't look at my kid's arm at all: he just took the gauze off, and had the techs re-wrap it. I asked my best PA friend who is in ortho and she confirmed that she always visualizes the skin, always. So he was lazy in addition to being an extremely poor communicator. As I suspect he may be Persian, perhaps his demeanor was based partially on sexism. I've never had such a poor visit. Although honestly I do most of my family's healthcare myself. Our experience at OU Childrens ER was amazing but your provider in the clinic is poor. Besides not visualizing the skin, I guess the job is getting done.
