Pediatric Specialists Answer Questions About COVID-19 Vaccination for Ages 5-11

Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health will hold a virtual panel discussion on COVID-19 Vaccination For Ages 5-11, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 9.
The FDA announced Emergency Use Authorization for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in this age group. OU Health Physicians pediatric and primary care clinics expect to begin vaccination for these children the week of November 8.
The following pediatric physicians will make brief presentations which will be followed by a Q&A session with participants:
- Donna Tyungu, M.D., pediatric infectious diseases specialist
- Elizabeth Makil, M.D., pediatric cardiologist
- Stephanie DeLeon, M.D., pediatric hospitalist
Each of these physicians is also a mother and will not only discuss the science, safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine, but will talk about why it is personally important to them to have their children vaccinated when they are eligible.
