About This Event

Details:

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and women in the United States. You can take steps to intervene early through annual screenings.

Stop by Stephenson Cancer Center on National Lung Cancer Screening Day to walk through your eligibility for screening, learn more about free tobacco cessation resources and receive a low-dose CT scan that creates a detailed picture of your lungs if you’re eligible.

Screenings are offered at no cost to the participant.

You may be eligible for screening if you:

  • Are ages 50 to 80 years old,
  • and currently smoke or have quit in the past 15 years,
  • and have at least a 20 pack-year smoking history (This is the number of packs of
  • cigarettes per day multiplied by the number of years smoked.)
