About Teresa Shavney

Teresa Shavney, M.D., FACS is an assistant professor in the department of surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. She completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. As a chief resident, she secured the Lloyd and Ruth Rader Award for the Outstanding Senior Resident in 1984.

Prior to joining the faculty in 2019, Dr. Shavney had a robust private practice in the Oklahoma City area. Besides clinical duties, she is active in medical community leadership, serving on various boards. She previously served as the Chief of Surgery at both Deaconess and Integris Baptist hospitals, as well as President of the Oklahoma County Medical Society.

    First time to see Dr. Shavney since Dr. Dooley is no longer se4ing patients. She seemed somewhat overwhelmed with her day. My opinion, too busy, to many patiets

    I received instant relief after my treatment with Dr.Shavney. The wound under my right arm swelled with fluid. Dr S.inserted a needle to drain the fluid. No pain, just instant relief.
