About Tammy Yanovitch

Jennifer Yanovitch, MD, MHSc, is a pediatric ophthalmologist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute and a clinical professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she serves as director of medical student education. She specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, providing expert care for children and adults with complex eye alignment and vision disorders.

Dr. Yanovitch earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship in internal medicine and ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma, where she received two Acers Resident Honor Awards. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Duke University and later served on the faculty at Duke before joining the Dean McGee Eye Institute faculty in 2011. She also earned a Master of Health Sciences from Duke University.

Dr. Yanovitch's clinical interests include amblyopia, eye muscle surgery, double vision, pediatric glaucoma and the care of children with special needs. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best possible vision while supporting families through every stage of care.

A recognized leader in ophthalmic education, Dr. Yanovitch serves in several national roles, including as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and vice president of the Learning Disabilities Committee for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She also serves on the editorial board of the association's scientific journal and has contributed to educational initiatives for both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Yanovitch has received numerous honors for her commitment to education and patient care, including the M. Dwayne Andrews, MD Excellence in Teaching Award in Graduate Medical Education, the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Award.
