About Sidney Lawler
Dr. Sidney Lawler, M.D., is an internal medicine physician who practices at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center at Hillcrest Hematology/Oncology Clinic in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she focuses on the care of patients with benign hematologic conditions and other non-malignant blood disorders. After more than 20 years practicing internal medicine as a hospitalist in Tulsa, Dr. Lawler transitioned to outpatient practice to dedicate her work to diagnosing, treating and managing complex blood disorders. In addition to her extensive experience in hospital medicine, Dr. Lawler has completed advanced training in integrative medicine, bringing a whole-person perspective to patient care.
Dr. Lawler earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Lawler completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa, where she also served as chief resident. She later completed a fellowship in integrative medicine through the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lawler has remained active in medical education, teaching medical students and residents through workshops, lectures and clinical training activities. Her contributions to academic medicine have been recognized with honors including the Crimson Apple Award for Teaching Excellence and the Peter Alderman Award for Compassionate Care. In addition, she has served on numerous professional and institutional committees and has contributed to educational publications for physician trainees.
