About Scott Vadala

Scott A. Vadala, MD, is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. He provides comprehensive care for patients with corneal disorders and performs advanced cataract, corneal, and refractive procedures, including LASIK, PRK, corneal transplantation, corneal cross-linking, and complex secondary intraocular lens implantation.

A native of North Texas, Dr. Vadala earned his bachelor’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology and his medical degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He completed a transitional year internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He then completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City.

Before returning to Oklahoma, Dr. Vadala practiced in Phoenix, Arizona, where he specialized in cornea, cataract surgery, and complex ocular trauma. Today, he brings expertise in routine, premium, and complex cataract surgery, advanced corneal transplantation techniques, keratoconus management, and refractive surgery. He is committed to delivering personalized care and exceptional visual outcomes through the latest surgical innovations and evidence-based treatment approaches.

Dr. Vadala is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cornea Society, and the Christian Ophthalmology Society. His research has contributed to the fields of retinal disease and ocular immunology, and he has been recognized with honors including Phi Beta Kappa and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Vadala enjoys running, cycling, hiking, racket sports, cooking, and reading. He lives in Oklahoma City with his golden doodle, Finley.
