About Ravi Pandit

Ravi R. Pandit, MD, MPH, is a fellowship-trained retina specialist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute. He specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous, with expertise in surgical retina and ophthalmic trauma.

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Pandit earned his bachelor's degree in economics, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then completed advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. In addition, he holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins, with certification in Health Management and Public Health Informatics.

Before joining Dean McGee Eye Institute, Dr. Pandit served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Associate Director of Ocular Trauma, and Assistant Chief of Service at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has received numerous awards recognizing his excellence in patient care, research, and medical education.

Dr. Pandit remains actively involved in organized ophthalmology and currently serves as National Disaster Chair for the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma and on the Credentials Committee for the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Retina Specialists.

An accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Pandit has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and articles in leading ophthalmology and retina publications. He is committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based care while advancing the field through education and research.
