Dr. Parasuram Melarcode Krishnamoorthy is the Inaugural Director of Structural Heart Program, Director of Interventional Cardiology Fellowship and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Medical Center. Prior to joining OU Health, Dr. Krishnamoorthy served as the Associate Director of Structural Heart Program at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City for five years. Dr. Krishnamoorthy is an interventional cardiologist with specialized clinical focus in complex percutaneous coronary and structural heart interventions, particularly transcatheter aortic, mitral, tricuspid valve therapies, LAAO and ASD/PFO closure. He has performed over 2000 cases of complex coronary interventions, 1000 cases of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and over 350 transcatheter mitral valve repair (transcatheter edge-to-edge repair) (TEER with MitraClip, Pascal), transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TEER with TriClip), and transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve replacement procedures, with excellent clinical outcomes. Dr. Krishnamoorthy has enrolled patients in several multicenter clinical trials in aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve disease. He participated in TRILUMINATE (Tricuspid clip) trial since 2019 and one of the early adopters of intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) in structural heart procedures. He along with his team performed one of the first cases of triclip in the country after its commercial approval in April 2024.
His clinical research focus is on lifetime management of aortic stenosis, particularly redo transcatheter aortic valve interventions, and role of advanced imaging in structural heart disease. His research efforts have been published in many high impact journals, and he has published over 140 peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. He is a regularly invited faculty and a lecturer at national and international conferences, including TCT, SCAI, CRT, New York Valves and London Valves.
