About Mubeen Shakir

Mubeen Shakir, MD, MPP, MSc is an internal medicine physician with OU Health in Oklahoma City where he provides primary care for adults. In addition, Dr. Shakir is the Associate Vice President of Clinical Innovation at OU Health.

Dr. Shakir earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA where he graduated cum laude with special honors in Health Policy. Dr. Shakir served as a commencement speaker at his 2019 Harvard Medical School graduation. He completed an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Shakir was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship where he completed a Master of Public Policy and a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

Dr. Shakir is passionate about health policy and has advised on political campaigns as well as policy for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
