About Maria Lim

Maria E. Lim, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions affecting children, including amblyopia (lazy eye), eye misalignment, pediatric cataracts, and pediatric glaucoma. She is dedicated to helping children achieve their best possible vision and building lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Dr. Lim earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine before pursuing fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Duke University.

Dr. Lim's passion for pediatric ophthalmology began during her first ophthalmology rotation in medical school, when she discovered a love for caring for children and helping them overcome vision challenges. She enjoys the opportunity to care for young patients throughout their development and to treat conditions that can be managed both medically and surgically.

As a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Dr. Lim is committed to providing exceptional patient care while contributing to the education of future ophthalmologists. She was drawn to Dean McGee Eye Institute by its dedication to outstanding patient care and the close-knit, collaborative culture of the department.

Outside of work, Dr. Lim is active in Leadership Oklahoma City's young professionals organization, LOYAL. She enjoys traveling, reading fiction, crafting, and practicing yoga.
