About Larissa Hines
Dr. Larissa Hines is a board-certified pediatrician with subspecialty certification in child abuse pediatrics. Her clinical work focuses on child protection, pediatric emergency care, and the medical needs of children in foster care.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. She completed her pediatric residency and served as chief resident at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health. She then pursued fellowship training in child abuse pediatrics at the University of Utah’s Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Her academic development also includes certificates in pediatric bioethics, conflict resolution, and clinical teaching.
In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Hines serves as the medical director for the Fostering Hope Clinic and Family TREE program, and she is the medical director of child welfare for Oklahoma Human Services. She chairs the Ethics Committee at OU Health and contributes to medical education through lectures, mentorship, and curriculum development. As a clinician educator, she is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents, with a focus on ethics, social determinants of health, and child abuse prevention.
