About Isabella Grumbach

Isabella Grumbach, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist at OU Health in Oklahoma City. She serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Her clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient cardiology, cardiovascular intensive care, and cardio-oncology. She provides care for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and has expertise in both general cardiology and cardio-oncology.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Ruhr University Medical School in Bochum, Germany, and completed her PhD in neuroanatomy at the same institution. Dr. Grumbach completed internship training at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology Hamburg, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, followed by residency training in internal medicine and cardiology at Georg August University Medical Center in Göttingen, Germany. She continued her postgraduate training with a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Grumbach has held various leadership roles and contributed to faculty committees, mentoring, and graduate education. Dr. Grumbach is actively involved in professional organizations and community outreach, including heart health events for women and girls.
