About Houssein Youness

Dr. Houssein Youness is a distinguished pulmonologist at OU Health and a Professor in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. With extensive experience in pulmonary and critical care, Dr. Youness has held various academic positions, including Associate and Assistant Professor roles at the same institution and West Virginia University. His clinical expertise spans pulmonary diseases, critical care, and sleep medicine, making him a vital asset to the medical community.

Dr. Youness earned his Doctor of Medicine from Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. His comprehensive training has equipped him with a robust foundation in his specialty areas.

Beyond his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Youness has served in several administrative capacities, including Chief of the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, and Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonary and the American Thoracic Society. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Youness enjoys participating in community health initiatives and mentoring young medical professionals, reflecting his dedication to both his field and his community.
