About Gennady Slobodov

Dr. Slobodov is a board-certified urologist with a subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Urology. He specializes in the treatment of female urology/reconstruction, male urologic reconstruction and urologic issues related to neurogenic bladder.

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in chemical engineering, Dr. Slobodov desired to pursue his medical training form the University of Oklahoma and this culminated with his urology residency training at OU. Dr. Slobodov always had a passion for teaching and joined the faculty practice of the OU Health Sciences Center in July of 2005.

His practice focuses on female urology - specifically in urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction and mesh complications and his male urology focuses on urinary reconstruction, urethral stricture disease, prior hypospadias failures and complications of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Within these two he performs a significant amount of urinary diversions.

He has a special interest in transitioning adolescents with congenital urologic problems to adult urologic care. The adult neurogenic bladder clinic specializes in treating patients with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, cerebrovascular accident (CVA)/stroke, and other conditions that result in neurogenic bladder.

She was good and helpful but, was more about wanting to make decisions herself. I did step in at one point when I was wondering about meds.

I brought my 85 year old mother with Alzheimer's. She had several UTIs in the past 6 months. She has home health coordinated with OU memory clinic. From her last UA she tested negative for UA but that her urine had crystal deposit and since she was still experiencing low back pain they referred us to a Urologist. I believe my Mom had had kidney stones before in her 40's. This doctor was arrogantly interrogating me on why we were there. He told me that taking too many UA wasn't good and he didn't recommend doing it. He begrudgingly ordered a CT and follow up appointment. He wasn't kind or caring. We all have bad days but I left the office feeling that we weren't worth his time.
