About Basit Khan
Basit Khan, M.D., is a neurosurgeon whose clinical practice focuses on cranial and spinal procedures, neuro-oncology, and advanced techniques such as Gamma Knife radiosurgery. His expertise encompasses the management of complex brain and spine disorders, and he is actively involved in both clinical care and research within the field of neurosurgery.
Dr. Khan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and History of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also completed his neurosurgical residency training at affiliated hospitals, including Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Ben Taub General Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, and the Veterans Hospital. He pursued additional training through a Gamma Knife course at the University of Pittsburgh and completed an observational fellowship under Professor Hugues Duffau at CHU Montpellier in France.
As an assistant professor of the neurosurgery section at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus, Dr. Khan is engaged in academic teaching and has delivered lectures on cranial trauma to medical students and intern physicians internationally. He has served as a member of the Program Evaluation Committee at Baylor College of Medicine and is an ad hoc reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr. Khan is also committed to community service, volunteering as a neurosurgeon on medical missions and participating in charity events such as cross-country and long-distance bicycle rides for cancer and multiple sclerosis.
