About Aikaterini Thanou

Dr. Thanou attended medical school in Athens, Greece, before moving to Oklahoma. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma, followed by fellowships in Geriatric Medicine and Rheumatology at the same institution. She subsequently worked in clinical research at the Department of Arthritis and Immunology at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, as well as in general rheumatology practice in the community. Dr. Thanou lives in Edmond with her husband and 2 children. She has a special interest in systemic lupus erythematosus, but accepts patients with conditions within the broad spectrum of rheumatology care.

    She does not treat pain. She prefers, I have primary care or pain management provider deal with that. She wants me to take biologics- I shared with her that it was not an option for me. Need more thoughtful option.
