Oklahoma Children's Hospital to Provide Free Lunch for Children This Summer

OKLAHOMA CITY – As part of its commitment to improving the lives of all children in the community, The Children’s Hospital, in cooperation with Sodexo,will be participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program during the most of the 2019 summer break, June 3 to July 31.

Through the Summer Food Service Program, lunch will be provided during the week at no cost to children 18 years and younger on a first-come, first served basis. Oklahoma Children's Hospital was the first hospital in the state to offer free meals to children while school is out. Children can receive these meals at The Children’s Hospital, 1200 Children’s Ave., Oklahoma City.

The Summer Food Service Program is similar to the National School Lunch Program and ensures children continue to receive adequate nutrition when school is out for summer break. The meals and service provided are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Meals will be provided at the following times:

Serving June 3 – July 31

Lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
