About Jeremy Tan

Jeremy Tan, MD, is an ophthalmologist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute and a clinical associate professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he serves as the Tolbert Family Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology. He specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as cosmetic treatments of the eyes and face, providing expert care for both functional and aesthetic concerns.

Dr. Tan earned his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma, where he served as chief resident, followed by a two-year fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with Ophthalmic Surgeons and Consultants of Ohio in collaboration with The Ohio State University, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and OhioHealth.

Dr. Tan’s clinical interests include complex reconstruction of the periocular region following trauma or tumor removal, functional and cosmetic rejuvenation of the eyelids and face, and management of orbital and nasolacrimal conditions, including thyroid eye disease, orbital tumors and tear drainage disorders. He also has a special interest in pediatric oculoplastic conditions such as congenital ptosis, craniosynostosis syndromes and nasolacrimal duct abnormalities, as well as the management of wound healing and cicatricial changes.

A native of New Jersey, Dr. Tan joined the Dean McGee Eye Institute faculty in 2018 and cares for patients across multiple Oklahoma City locations. As a first-generation American, he brings a diverse perspective to patient care and has a particular interest in the anatomy and surgical nuances of the Asian eyelid.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with his wife and children and exploring the vibrant culinary scene in Oklahoma City.
