OU Health Offers Extended Vaccination Hours to Help Families Prepare for Upcoming School Year
In partnership with Oklahoma City Public Schools, Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health is expanding access to childhood vaccinations ahead of the 2025–26 school year.
From Aug. 7 to Aug. 15, three Oklahoma Children’s Hospital pediatric clinics will offer walk-in vaccination hours from 4:30 to 6 p.m., giving families more options to get their children immunized ahead of the school year. Daytime appointments are also available and can be scheduled by calling the clinics directly.
In Oklahoma City, all students must have updated immunization requirements or a filed exemption by the first day of school.

"Vaccines are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect our kids," said pediatric hospitalist Dr. Stephanie DeLeon, M.D., associate chief medical officer for Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health and chief of the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. "As a parent, I know how busy this time of year can be. These extended hours are about making it easier for families to get what they need to start the school year strong, healthy and able to focus on learning.”
