Cancer Prevention & Control Program

The goal of the Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) Program is to understand and address high-impact cancers and cancer-related disparities in Oklahoma (SCC catchment area), with a focus on disparities in the state’s American Indian (AI), Black / African American (Black/AA), rural, and other socioeconomically disadvantaged populations.

The specific aims of the CPC Program are:

  1. To identify genetic, environmental, behavioral, and social risk factors that contribute to high cancer incidence and disparities in Oklahoma.
  2. To develop, evaluate, and implement interventions to reduce to cancer incidence and mortality.
  3. To improve cancer outcomes through enhancing care coordination, delivery and survivorship.
